Summary of todays lesson d. 16/4 - 2012
By Cecilia Krog Poulsen

Angela showed us as usual what we should do in todays lesson.
We started out talking about the days homework in our compendium. After that the class made our own groups, and each group should prepare a little presentation about the questions for todays homework infront of the class. After that we talked a little about the movie we're going to watch on tuesday, which has something to do with illegal things/crimes. We saw what movie we shall see, by looking at the movie vote on our blog site. The movie with most votes was a movie called Se7en, so that's the moving we're seeing on tuesday. The last thing we did was seeing some small videoclips on Youtube.com which was about the two boys Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, who comitted a masscre on their school, Columbine High School.

My criminal case

My criminal: Ottis Toole
Theodore Robert "Ted" Bundy (born Theodore Robert Cowell; November 24, 1946 – January 24, 1989) was an American serial killer, rapist, kidnapper, and necrophilia who assaulted and murdered numerous young women during the 1970s. After almost a decade of denials, he confessed. How many people he have killed is still unknown, and could be much higher than the 30 homicides he have confessed.
His method was by using his charismatic and handsome look, to gain the trust of women in public places and then take them to a secluded location, where he would kill them. He kept some of the heads from these people he have killed.
He received three death sentences in two trials separate trials for the Florida homicides.
Ted Bundy died in the electric chair at Raiford Prison in Starke, Florida on January 24, 1989. A biographer named Ann Rule described him as "... a sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human's pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death, and even after."
I think the punishment was fair and square. He did also call himself "the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet". He killed and parted people, had sex with them even when they already were dead. He was a psychopath who deserved to die, but I'd rather see him rotten up in prison for the rest of his life.

Summary of lesson April 12th

In this lesson, we were in the schools' computer room. First, we all had to suggest a movie we should watch in the class, which is about crime and punishment. Then we had to research on a criminal case and then write about it. The requirements for the task were to explain the criminal case, and if the punishment the murderer got, was fair.

Dean Corll, when he was in the military
Dean Corll was an American serial killer from 1970 to 1973, known for having raped, tortured and killing approximately 28 teenage boys in Houston, Texans, along with two companions, David Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley. Corll was born December 24, 1939 where he grew up in a divided family. He was in military in the 50’s and in the late 60’s, he became friends with Brooks and Wayne. They killed 28+ boys, aged between 13 and 20. The boys were mostly abducted from Houston Heigh, which is a poor neighborhood in Houston. Many of the victims knew each other; two of them actually were former employees of the Corll Candy Company, Corlls’ previous firm. He was best-known by the name ‘The Candy Man’, because he gave children free candy to lure them.

Elmer Wayne Henley pictured at age 41
Corll was shot and killed by Henley August 8, 1973 and therefore never got a trial. The two other men, who were involved, killing the youngsters along with Corll, were only teenagers when they met Corll in 1970. But at the time they were arrested, they were adults and could therefore get prosecuted and convicted for the murders, they were involved in. Henley was given 6 times life sentence, which I think is pretty fair, because many of the groups victims knew Henley and trusted him. He and Brooks also lure many of the boys to Corll's house.

If Corll had been caught, I would have gave him a long life sentence rather than a dead sentence, because no man, no matter how bad he or she has acted, deserves to die in a chair. I think it’s a double moral act, to kill someone, who has killed.

School shooting in Ohio

A teenager opened fire on a group of students in a high school cafeteria outside Cleveland around breakfast time on Monday. One student died and four others was wounded.
Students at Chardon High School said they heard screams around 7:40 a.m., at the same time the authorities said the shooting took place. Students described that there was a spreading panic and that teachers locked down classrooms and other students started sending text messages to friends. One teacher was said to have dragged a wounded student into his classroom for protection.
The police identified the dead student as Daniel Parmertor, a 16 year old junior. They said two students were in critical condition, while two others appeared to be stable.
The local police in Chardon, said they had apprehended a suspect on Monday afternoon, but Tim McKenna, the police chief, said they could not identify him because he was a juvenile.
There’s is no name founded on the guilty. The offender is a minor, so I think he should have the right treatment on a psychopathic hospital. The person who did this must be mental sick. I have some prejudices about this child, maybe he is coming from an unstable family who has not given him attention or love, and that could be a reason why he did a crime like this. What I mean is that when he’s finishing the treatment at the hospital he should get out of town and be placed as a new family who will take good care of him.

Criminal Case - Ed Gein

Criminal Case
Ed Gein - serial killer in America

Random information
He was known as one of the history's most inspirational killer. Actaully his character became a role in many films like Alfred Hitschock's thriller Psycho and the character of Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs.

About Ed Gein
Ed Gein was a serial killer, who skinned his victims, exhumed corpses and decorated his home with parts of his victims bodies. The skin of the victims was used to make dust bins, furniture and clothes.
Ed Gein was born in 1906 and had a brother. He had a alcoholic father and domineering mother wich was really religious. His mother passed away, and with nobody to control him, Ed Gein became obsessed with sexual fantasies and female anatomy.

Fascinated by human experiments performed in Nazi camps, he started making graves to perform experiments of his own, including exhuming his own mother’s body. The experiments became gruesome and cannibalistic. When police caught up with him, they saw a house full of horror. There were hanging corpses with their throats and heads missing, bowls made of skulls, pieces of jewelry made of human skin, hanging lips, skin upholstery for chairs, and masks made of facial skin and vulva that were painted silver. The most shocking discovery was perhaps his mother’s heart, which was found in a pan on the stove. The police counted 15 woman as his victims.

Punishment:
Ed Gein was tranported to different hospitals after he was arrested. The trial began november 14, 1968 and that took a week. The jugde said he was guilty in first-degree murder, but because he was mental sick, he spended the rest of the life in a mental hospital. He died of cancer in a age of 78.

School shooting in Ohio

Tuesday the 28th of February 2012, a 17 year old boy named T.J. Lane, went crazy and shoots 3 people in his school Chardon High School and fired 10 shot. Prosecutors identified the shooter as T.J. Lane and said he has admitted to taking a knife and a 22-caliber pistol into the cafeteria.
Students Demetrius Hewlin and Russell King Jr., 17, were both declared dead on Tuesday later another student died Monday, Daniel Parmertor, 16. There are still 2 people at the hospital.
Prosecutors told a judge in Geauga County Juvenile Court that Lane told them he had selected his victims randomly. In his court appearance, Lane was ordered held in detention pending the filing of formal charges. The judge gave prosecutors until Thursday to file charges.
His family, the Lane family's lawyer described the suspect as a "good kid" who had never been in trouble and had impressive grades.
Jessica Lunsford a 9-Year-Old girl

 Af: Kristina Andersen

Jessica Marie Lunsford was only nine years old, when she was abducted from her own home in Homosassa, Florida.
On Friday, February 24, 2005 Mark Lunsford alarm clock went off 5:00 A.M. His daughter, Jessica usually got up around the same time he did. After taking his usual bath, he could not understand why Jessica’s alarm was still buzzing in her room. He opened the door, expecting to find his daughter sleeping in bed, but the bed was empty. Jessica was not in her bed. Mark looked all over the house, but Jessica was gone. The next day police, volunteers and family combed the area.
Days past and there was still no sign of Jessica.
When a child is reported missing, the police check all known sex offenders in the area.
In the course of their investigation, they discovered that at well-known sex offender, was not living on the address he was registered.
When they found John Couey (47 years old), he started out saying that he did not do anything, but as the case went on he ended up telling the truth.
You can read what he did here in point form:
·         Entered Lunsford home 3:00
·         Woke her and ordered her to be quiet
·         Told her to follow him, back to his sister’s house
·         Couey raped Jessica first time in the night
·         Next morning – raped her again
·         Afterward he put her in his closet while he was and work
·         Kept her in the closet for 3 days
·         During that time, investigators came to look for Couey, but did not check the closet
·         When he learned that detectives were searching for him, he panicked
·         He decided to bury her…… even though she was not dead
·         Her body was found inside two tied plastic garbage bags
·         Her wrists were bound
·         She died clutching her prized purple dolphin
·         Cause of death: suffocation
·         It took around 3 to 5 minutes for Jessica to stop breathing

On August 24, 2007, a judge in Inverness, Florida sentenced Couey, a sex offender, to death for kidnapping, sexually battering, and first degree murder of Jessica. The jury recommended death penalty.

On September 30, 2009, Couey died from colon cancer, before he got his before he got the proper punishment for killing and raping an innocent child.
I think, that death penalty is the right punishment for this awful person, what he did is terrible. He buried a child, while she was still alive.

Columbine High School massacre

Description of the case:

The Columbine occurred a Tuesday in 1999 (April, 20) in a high school in Columbine near Denver.
It was two senior students named Eric Harris and Dyland Klebold there was shooting. They killed 12 students and 1 teacher, while they also injured 24 students. After the shootings they committed suicide. The case is the fourth-deadliest school massacre in United States history.
After the situation there were a lot a talk about the gun control laws in USA. Many people meant that it was too easy to have weapons. Other said that it was the violent movies and video games fault.

The punishment:
The two boys did not get any punishment, because they committed suicide after the shootings. But I think that it is such a big case in the history and it had hurt a lot of people. I do not think the two boys would be apple to be in a prison, because they need help from professionals, and after that they have to be supervised the rest of there live, because I think boys like them are so unbalanced.
Sagsbeskrivelse- josef fritzl

The Fritzl case emerged in April 2008 when his 42-year-old doughter, Elisabeth Fritzl (born April 6, 1966), stated to police in the town of Amstetten, (Austria), that she had been held captive for 24 years in a concealed corridor part of the basement area of the family home, a condominium-style apartment complex built by her father, Josef Fritzl (born April 9, 1935), and that Fritzl had physically assaulted, sexually abused, and raped her numerous times during her imprisonment. The incestuous relationship forced upon her by her father resulted in the birth of seven children and one miscarriage.
Totally, Elisabeth born 7 kids.
Josef Fritzl,  was arrested on April 26, 2008 as a 73 age old man.  The punish was: Present, rest of his life.

I’ll think the punish is unreasonable. Josef Fritzl should be sentenced to death. A man like him, should not be allowed to breathe.

When i think about other people, there are doing smaller things then thi, and they is being sentenced to death, is not fair that Josef Fritzl
 What do you think?
